Brand Design Direction
At the beginning of each season our Design Directors create a Brand Design Direction booklet which is shared internally at NPG with our Brand managers, design teams, merchandising teams, product developers, technical designers, raw material teams, print teams, color teams and brand license teams where appropriate (for example – soft accessories, footwear and women’s specialized if the brand has licenses in these areas). The Brand Design Direction is then shared with all of our NPG suppliers.
The Design Director is responsible for interpreting trends, selecting images, colors and prints   appropriate for the brand and the target customer.

The Design Director creates the BDD, using the above research and builds the framework for the BDD to include the following:

The Design director then works closely with the Design team, Product developers and Raw materials teams to request raw material developments, specific mock up requests and wash developments based on the brand design direction.

NPG supplier Expectations
NPG suppliers should study the Brand Design Direction and submit raw materials, silhouette and mock up developments based on the Brand design direction. NPG suppliers will also be required to submit mock ups based on specific requests from the Design & Product development teams.
